Alan Thomas, CAE is currently the Chief Executive Office at Array Coating Technology (ACT), LLC. ACT is a full service industrial coating, painting, powder coating and metal finishing company based in Montgomery County, Texas. Prior to joining ACT, Thomas was the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of The Houston-based International Facility Management Association (IFMA). He is also a former Director of Business Strategy and Development for ProSys. He began his career in association management in 2001 at the Safety Council of the Louisiana Capitol Area, where he served as Executive Vice President.
In 2005, Thomas was awarded the Association Trends Young and Aspiring Leader Award. He has been featured in several magazines and is a published author and speaker on the topics of business strategy, leadership and organizational culture.
Thomas currently serves on the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau Advisory Board, as well as program advisory boards for Brigham Young University and the University of California at Berkeley. He previously served on the Board of Directors of the Louisiana Society of Association Executives, the Louisiana Chemical Association Governmental Affairs Committee and the Baton Rouge Area Drug and Alcohol Center.
Thomas hold a bachelor’s degree in Christian Education from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and an MBA from Tulane University.

He was formerly a partner with Beale, Lee and Associates, a private investment firm located in central and northwestern Arkansas. Lee began his career in the investment business in 2005.
After joining Beale, Lee and Associates, Lee developed a proprietary system for capital management by using the structural disadvantages inherent in mutual funds to his clients’ advantage. Beale, Lee and Associates has used this unique investment strategy to protect their clients’ capital through a very challenging market environment.
Prior to becoming a partner with Beale, Lee and Associates, Lee was an F-16 fighter pilot with the United States Air Force. In his Air Force career, Lee was the recipient of multiple Top Gun awards and the Instructor Pilot of the Year award in 1999. He was also responsible for the direct protection of President Bush on multiple occasions during his visits to Crawford, Texas.
Lee currently serves as a deacon at First Baptist Church Bentonville, and he is on the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Advisory Board for Northwest Arkansas.
Lee holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the United States Air Force Academy.

Tony Taylor is Vice President of New Business Development and Director of Strategic Planning for Emergent Technologies, Inc. (ETI) in Austin, Texas. ETI is a unique life sciences venture capital firm that forms and manages companies and funds that license and commercialize groundbreaking institutional and university-based technologies.
Taylor is responsible for performing market research to discover opportunities for ETI portfolio company technology applications, identifying potential collaborative partners and creating and implementing the marketing plan.
In 2004, Taylor was the principle investigator on a $2 million Advanced Technology Project award from the National Institute of Standards and Technology. The overall goal of the 3-year project was to develop a new class of breast cancer diagnostic and therapeutic antibodies unique in their ability to recognize tumor proteins presented by the body’s natural antigen display systems.
In addition, Taylor has served in various capacities for Ethyl Chemical, Green Bay Packaging, Dow-Corning and Raytheon. He is also the founder of Fulcrum Chemicals, a specialty chemicals supplier, and has managed biotechnology companies developing novel immunotherapies and nanotechonology companies creating thin films.
He has also worked with the National Association of Seed and Venture funds on a number of projects and has been a judge and speaker at several business plan competitions, including the World’s Best Technology Showcase, the University of Texas Moot Corp Competition, the Arkansas Venture Forum and The Tennessee Innovation Conference.
Taylor has a B.S. and M.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Arkansas.
Victor Mbarika, Ph.D.
Southern University A&M College
Dr. Victor Mbarika is a faculty member of the College of Business at Southern University and A&M College located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and is the founding director of the University’s International Center for Information Technology and Development. He is also a visiting professor at Makerere University Business School in Kampala, Uganda, as well as at several other universities. Additionally, he is an information and communications technology (ICT) consultant with various governmental and private agencies.
With over 100 academic publications, Dr. Mbarika has authored 3 books, and his research on ICT diffusion in developing countries and on multimedia learning has appeared in 38 peer reviewed journals, 5 book chapters and over 60 national and international conference publications. His scholarly publications and work have appeared in numerous journals and in major media outlets such as Reuters and the Associated Press, including numerous radio and TV appearances.
He has received multiple research teaching grants and fellowships, amounting to over $1.25 million, from the National Science Foundation, NASA, KPMG, Microsoft, Southern Regional Education Board and the Louisiana Board of Regents. In addition, Dr. Mbarika has received the prestigious Fulbright Program grant. He also holds over 20 research, teaching and services excellence awards and has been featured on the cover page of several magazines, highlighting his ICT research and consulting activities.
Dr. Mbarika is Editor-In-Chief of The African Journal of Information Systems and serves as senior board member for several other journals, such as IEEE Transactions on IT in Biomedicine. He is Founder of the Cameroon Computer and Network Center. He is a member of the Association of Information Systems, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the Information Resources Management Association.
He holds a B.S. in Management Information Systems (MIS) from the U.S. International University, a M.S. in MIS from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Ph.D. in MIS from Auburn University.

The founder of ProSys, Leslie D. Jensen, was originally from Fort Dodge, Iowa and attended Iowa State University. In his final year of college, Les took the opportunity to visit Louisiana for an interview with ExxonMobil. Accepting the offer, he decided to stay and make it his forever home. After working for ExxonMobil, Les Jensen and an associate decided to branch out and form their own partnership. The partnership faded with time, and Les was left with the desire to own his own company. Hence, ProSys was formed in February of 1989. The name ProSys is an acronym for Process Systems, which represents our global approach to process operations and control. The concepts which support this approach have grown from the knowledge and insight gained during more than two decades of international consulting experience.
From the beginning, Les focused on providing his employees an atmosphere that inspired creativity in order to provide services to corporations across the world. ProSys was founded on the principals of Les’ favorite quote:

The company expanded by forming a German subsidiary, ProSys GmbH, in 1991. ProSys completed its first successful dynamic alarm management project in 1990 and released the first commercially available dynamic alarm management software in 1995. In 1996, Dustin Beebe started as an Associate Engineer and was instrumental in developing our alarm shelving tool, Special Alarm Management (SAM). Most of the alarm management projects in the early years were centered in Europe. The United States was a little slower to catch on to the concept, but with the publication of EEMUA 191 in 1999 and the establishment of ISA 18.2 in 2003 and its publication in 2009, ProSys began to see a lot more interest stateside.
ProSys’ early dynamic alarm management and alarm shelving software was specifically for the Honeywell TDC™. In 2007, ProSys released AgileOps™, a dynamic alarm management software for any DCS that can communicate through an OPC connection.
